Workgroup for Research on Race, Immigration, and Justice

Always important, but increasingly so recently, racial justice and illegal immigration are key points in domestic and international policy. The topic of race, unauthorized immigration, labor demand, and justice policy is controversial and capable of creating environments in which misleading or incorrect information is taken as fact.

Successfully funding the scientific study of these topics and developing evidence-based solutions aligns with the goals of a research university. To encourage the solicitation of grant applications and to locate funding opportunities for this work, the College of Applied Arts has a Workgroup for Research on Race, Immigration, and Justice. This workgroup provides an intellectual space to engage these topics academically.

The primary goal of this initiative is to successfully solicit funding for research, but other goals include providing guest lectures, increasing interdepartmental and interdisciplinary collaboration, and exploring educational and career opportunities for students.
